Tri Nuclear Corp.
In nuclear power plants it is necessary to minimize radiation levels to meet ALARA goals. The Filter Transfer Shield (Model FTS-2) is designed to reduce the exposure from expended filter cartridges.
· Designed to hold (1) Tri Nuclear Corp. filter cartridge or (1) Pall nuclear filter
· Can accommodate other types of filter cartridges
· 2" of lead shielding, stainless steel clad
· Mobile - can be moved by hand, crane or fork truck
· Top or bottom loading
· 300lb electric chain hoist
· Ideal for rad waste room operations
· Removable bottom drip pan
The Filter Transfer Shield (Model FTS-2) is designed to top or bottom load a standard Tri Nuclear filter cartridge, or a Pall nuclear filter. The Filter Transfer Shield is transported on a stainless steel dolly that can be moved via overhead crane, fork truck or manually moved to another location.
A 40’ power cable and control pendant is attached to the hoist with electrical disconnects. The transfer shield electric hoist has an open hook that remotely attaches to the lift bale for raising the filter cartridges into the shield.
The filter lead shield has 2” of rolled lead, and the removable top cover has 1-1/2” of lead. The bottom 1” of lead shielding is canned into the dolly. The filter shield has a fabricated bottom drip pan that is easily installed to collect any small amounts of residual water from an expended filter cartridge during transfer.
