Dual Voltage/Frequency ratings of Tri Nuclear pumps

This technical bulletin is to confirm all standard Tri Nuclear Pumps (2HP – PP-100; 5HP – PP-260; & 15HP – PP600) are dual rated for 460V/3ph/60Hz AND 380V/3ph/50Hz.  Although the motor stamp may not show the 380V/3ph/50Hz rating, the dual rating has been confirmed with the motor manufacturer.

There are no adverse effects in running the pump/motor assembly at 380V/3ph/50Hz. At 50 hz, the pump runs a lower rpm, thus the system flow rate decreases by approximately 17%.  One advantage in operating the system at a lower flow rate is an increase in filter dirt loading on the filter cartridge.

Operating the unit at reduced frequency does not change the requirements for filter change out.

FILTER CARTRIDGE CHANGE CRITERIA - Continue operation of filters until they are considered depleted. This should be determined from experience, either by reaching a predetermined maximum dose rate on the filters, or by a decrease in flow rate to approximately 50% to 60% of the initial clean filter flow rate.
