The Reactor Cavity has been drained, and Cavity deconning has begun. Personnel with squeegees, and HEPA vacs are trying to remove the last pockets of radioactive material. This process often results in high man rem, “hot” HEPA vacs, and various waste disposal issues.
Tri Nuclear Corp. has designed the Filter Collection Tank to help solve these problems. The FCT30-W/D is designed to be used in conjunction with the plants HEPA vacuums during clean up operations.
This equipment setup has several excellent features:
Water entering the FCT30-W/D is filtered through a standard Tri Nuclear Filter Cartridge or Bag Filter.
All radioactive particles are captured on the inside of a standard Tri Nuclear Filter Cartridge (inside to outside flow).
“Filtered” water can be moved to and drained in a separate location if desired.
